Hello. It's nice for Galvin to let me wrote on his homepage. First I will introduce yself. My name is Yohei Katazuki. Galvin is my teacher and he says I should write something about the Nintendo Gamecube game Super Mario Sunshine. Sometimes I talk about video games with Galvin so I think it will be good to write about it. So, let's begin!

"Super Mario Sunshine" is a game for Nintendo Gamecube that you can buy starting from this year's July. It has sold very well in Japan because it has Mario who is popular. It is not for Playstation 2 or X-Box so that is okay because I only have a Gamecube, which is orange.

First of all I should tell you that I like Super Mario Sunshine a lot and so does my brother. The graphics are not "mind blowing" but they are still good to look at. For instance it is not as pretty as the Microsoft X-Box game "Dead or Alive 3" but it is more stylish and like a cartoon. In addition my mother will not let me play "Dead or Alive 3" for Microsoft X-Box. I disagree.

The sound in this game is also good. Mario makes sounds like "Woo" and "Waa" and "Mama Mia!" just like a real person from Italy. The songs are good too because many are like the songs used in Mario games from before. Such as when you are beneath the ground the song sounds like "Duhduh duhduh duhduh." In addition about the graphics they, the water, are very good. Mario has a "water pack" called FLUDD in this, the Nintendo Gamecube game. He uses it to shoot water at enemies but also to hover additionally. It is very cool I think, and adds a new dementia to the game.

Oh, but sometimes they take away the "water pack" FLUDD on stages where you must jump a lot. These are very hard and frustrating too because if you fell you DIE. And then you must do it again. But, it is still fun even when you DIE. Unless you do it too much. But aren't many things like that in life!

Mario has many moves in this Nintendo Gamecube game. The controls for them are very good. For example he may "body attack" where he dives at enemies, or he can jump a total of 3 times for the "Triple Jump". If you played the Nintendo 64 game "Mario 64" for Nintendo 64, then maybe you can remember Mario had a "long jump" in which he jumped far to a high degree. Well in this game, "Super Mario Sunshine" for Nintendo Gamecube, he does not have it. This makes me sad, but like my brother says it does not mean the game is not good.

Also this game has a story. Mario is on vacation with Peach on a tropical island but someone has been painting graffiti on it. The people who live on the island think it is Mario! since people say they saw him do it but

it wasn't. But no one believes him so Mario must "clear his name". Therefore he wears "water pack" FLUDD to go clean the island.

In conclusion I believe that the game "Super Mario Sunshine" for Nintendo Gamecube is very good. My brother thinks it is very fun as well even though he likes "Metal Gear Solid 2" for Playstation 2 which he plays with his friend (they are 12). So out of 10 points I say a 9. It is a very good and fun game with creativity but Yoshi cannot swim in this game. In fact if he goes in the water he DIES which I don't like! So 1 point is taken away to make it a 9. So, in summary, "Super Mario Sunshine" for Nintendo Gamecube is a very very good game but it is not perfect. I still like it, though. "SHINE GET!" (That is what it says when you get a "Shine" in the game) Shines are what you collect as Mario.

It was nice meeting you. Goodbye!
